BATS AND BROOMSTICKS

Whitby is a wonderful atmospheric place..... it'd be fun to visit WITHOUT all that Bram Stoker gubbins but it has to be said that the Goth Festivals really are sensational. At that time of the year the whole place is buzzing with black clad doom mongers and as for the gig itself - it's the only one I know where the audience are more outlandishly dressed than the bands.

I do hope they book The Damned for it again soon as it's pretty much our favourite of all the places we've played recently.

And when they we do play there again I hope the promoter puts us in Bats and Broomsticks..... a gothic emporium of a hotel that ol' Dracula himself would be more than happy to stay at. There's skeletons and coffins everywhere y'see - but Kev and Tish who run the place are remarkably friendly considering!

When the festival is in full swing you'll be VERY lucky to get a room at Bats and Broomsticks but Whitby's a weird and wonderful seaside town all year round and seems to be becoming an increasingly popular place to live these days for those of a 'dark persuasion' so why not give it a visit playmates.

Anyway.... I thought I'd take this opportunity to give Bats and Broomsticks a well deserved plug as the effort and attention to detail they have put into making their hotel so special should be heartily applauded!

In fact, you COULD say it's fangtastic (groan) - Captain Sensible.
