All round brewing genius John Smith from the Hart Brewery (somewhere near Preston) has been concocting some fabulous Damned related beers up there. There's one called 'Blackout' that we were supping on our last visit. The Damned try to pop round to the brewery when we are passing that way while on tour and can recommend the place highly. The brewery is round the back of a real nice pub / restaurant in a really scenic village called Little Ecclesden and is definitely worth seeking out if you are (like your chums here) a bit of an ale afficianado. Rumour has it that he has a NEW Damned related beverage in the pipeline as he has requested some photos of Cap recently. Anyway, check out Smithy's website (and in particular his Blog) at http://www.hartbreweryltd.co.uk/ Well, we have just heard that the latest beer from Hart is to be called (cue drum roll....) 'New Rose' and apparantly it's a real treat for the tastebuds. But wouldn't it be just typical if the beer wins an gong - unlike your chums in the Damned who conspicuously have never been given the time of day by anyone who runs the multitudes of award ceremonies which have degenerated into self congratulory love ins of late. But sod 'em all say us here at OfficialDamned..... do we care if they hate us? Of course we bloomin' well don't! (thinks.... must write a song about the same old boring turds patting each other on the back each year in the Brits or whatever it's called...)
Damned Ale... part 3 To: John
Smith "Great beer John.... the 1st pint was a winner but the 2nd was sensational. We were all guessing which hops you used.... Cascade were mentioned? Nice citrus vibe to the beer - well done! It's also quite moreish.... have you put dangerous drugs in it or something? I hope to see you when we're on the road - all the best - Cap"
