He plays in a band called the Part Time Posers (met a few of THEM in me time...) who some of you out there will probably like a lot as they're of the 'raunchy but good tunes' variety. I've told 'em to bung up some MP3s for y'all so they should turn up at their website shortly. Ego stayed in Brighton a few days and timed it just right to catch Teasing Lulu at the Junction in Burgess Hill while he was here. I also fed him some veggie nosh, washed down with lashings of Fullers London Pride at the excellent Fubar (Trafalgar st) while he was here. Unfortunately he ruined the poor old Hohner by getting me to sign it - but there you go - silly old sod, blah blah, etc...
While having a sort out at Sensible Mansions it has come to my attention that this 'ere guitar is surplus to my requirements, and I could certainly do with the space at present seeing as how me and Lou always seem to return home these days clutching some new essential purchase or other. A large plastic Betty Boop here.... a Mesa Boogie Rocket 44 there - and then there's the clothes!! So I thought I'd offer this excellent Hohner 12 string electric guitar to any of you plank spankers out there that feel they need a bit of extra jangle in their lives. Not only does this beastie look great but as soon as you plug it in and hear that crazy 60's tone its almost as if it's demanding to have you play 'Mr Tambourine Man' and all that other cool Byrds stuff. I've always had a 12 string floating about just in case it's required... theres one on 'Drinking About My Baby' that livened that track up no end, I think we hired that one for the session. I purchased this guitar in the 80's and it is the one I have used on all my post A+M solo recordings that have 12 string on... oh, and there's also a small riffy bit on the chorus of 'Looking For Action'... down in the mix a bit but it is there I assure you. So if anyone's interested make me an offer, Hohner make nice guitars but it ain't worth zillions. Maybe somebodys gotta nice short scale bass like a Fender Mustang (as Fred Berk used to play in Johnny Moped.... always liked that bass) they would like to swap? Anyway - here's some pics.... cheers me dears - Cap, x PS - the rug came from Ikea |
