After
an entertaining and humourous set from the still unique Wreckless
Eric (The first time that I've seen the old codger since the seventies!),
the stage and crowd were ready for the mighty Damned.
The lads launched into 'Nasty' and the sound and energy level
didn't disappoint from that opening moment. The usual banter with
the Captain is still alive and kicking, and Dave looked and sounded
better than he ever has. (What's the guy on....monkey glands?!!!).
New single 'Little Miss Disaster' and the cover of Love's 'Alone
Again or' slipped in well with all the classic Damned tunes on
an excellent set list that included 'Love Song', an edited
'Curtain Call', 'Street of Dreams', 'Machine gun
etiquette' et al.....
Only disappointments were the dropping of 'I Just Can't Be Happy
Today' and Patricia still missing from bass duties due to her
entry into motherhood. Despite these small gripes, this line-up is
strong and tight, and proves that there's a few more albums and tours
in the chaps for a long time.
