MANCHESTER - ACADEMY 2
Saturday 8th December 2007

I was in the company of 3 friends for this one ..... all old punks and veterans of Damned concerts. Great company and a great show. True Damned fans evolved with the band and appreciate the Dark Theatre side of the Damned along with the early punk tunes.

The blend of music from each era was excellent...there's always a couple of favourites that they miss out but it makes you want to go again next time because you know the set list is regularly rotated to keep things fresh.

Only one complaint, don't put Monty at the back, hurling his insults at the crowd whilst cowering behind his 'beer screen'.....get him up front so the 'beer shower' brigade can target him easier without inflicting unnecessary dampness to Dave and the Captains fine attire.

Already looking forward to the next one.....long live the Damned.

(I think Monty manages to get his point across very well as he does... without the need to spoil HIS attire or keyboards! -Ed.)

Absolutely wonderful!

I know that's not much by way of a review, but that's exactly what it was.

Took the 40 year old (Damned) virgin with me to see the finest live entertainment this planet has to offer and his description of the gig was it made the hairs on his neck stand up (and that’s with a DV at less than 100%), what a fuckin blinder it was too.

Great to hear songs like Nasty, Generals, Dozen Girls, The Shadow Of Love, Dr Jekyll back in the mix. Great venue, appreciative crowd, Monty wearing beer again (here’s a tip Mont nobody threw any beer till you started moaning about it) Dave got one as well which screwed his mic up but took it on the chin and carried on, great night as always lets hope the moronic fuckin cock suckers of the record industry wake up and smell the music and give The Damned a record contract soon. VIVA LA DAMNED

Yours Sincerely

It must be Christmas, The Damned are on tour again, the xmas Damned tour along with turkey, mince pies and drinking too much are my festive traditions.

This was easily the best gig of the year and surpassed the two previous tours, great set list, great atmosphere, drunken companions, if i hadn't had to drive and Hatton had won his punch up the night would have been perfect, still can't have everything. three xmas wishes, 1) is that the damned play Plan 9, my personal fave (and maybe Sanity Clause next xmas), 2) a new album, they've ben going on about this for years, The Damned are starting to make the stone roses look productive! and 3) Monty finds his sense of humour, it's a gig, people get drunk, idiots throw lager, deal with it (not sure he'd agree with that! -Ed.)
