SWANSEA - SIN CITY
Thursday 13th December 2007

I Admit I was a Damned Live Virgin, aswell as a "punk band live gig" virgin, So I didnt really know what to expect. The Last time I set foot in this Sin City Venue of Swansea's was when I was a teen, bopping around my handbag in the mid-eighties, when punk was lying low, and Sin City was then known as Harpers. So I knew that the venue would be, for want of a better word, 'cosy', and not really sure how it would affect the overall sound and acoustics.

I arrived at the start of the support band...even now, dont know who the hell they were called, a 4 piece punky effort, with a lead singer who strangely resembled a mix of the artful doger, from Oliver! and theat creepy ChildCatcher. They made their way through a few songs, attendance was low at this point, there wasnt much audience to beef up.

As time went on, just before The Damned appeared on came the girls with a gothic cabaret moulin rouge routine, some talent there, but not noticable..more eye candy for the lads.

Swansea filled up real good by now, with an audience mix of normal/semi normal/not sane/needing medication/needing sectioning/totally fckd Then, all hell broke loose when the Damned appeared AT LAST!! and what a way to break my punk virginity YAY! i was really chuffed to hear them play Video Nasty..I loved them doing that on The Young Ones. What made me laugh was in the very front were 5 lads in the audience, some with dental braces.. Jesus, I own knickers older than them! The audience was brill, It was sure A fab gig, brill set, great attendence...sound awesome.

Thanks lads and ladesses for giving me one to remember DIOLCH! FROM ABERTAWE
