YORK - FIBBERS
Sunday 15th April 2007

It was a strange feeling going to an afternoon gig but if it had been a night gig getting back to Wakefield from York on public transport is impossible!

On a glorious hot day it was nice to have a pint or three by the river and to see Monty and Captain walking round taking in the sights.

We entered Fibbers at about 3.30pm and it was packed, it is a very small venue and after queing forever for a drink we ended up stood right at the back when The Damned came on stage (10 minutes early!). My first impressions were shit I can't see a thing and what terrible sound quality.

After the first two songs I ventured back to the bar area and was amazed at the difference in sound, it was spot on and also quite a good viewing place so we remained there for the rest of the gig.

The set list was perfect from old classics like See Her Tonite to the excellent new (ish) Perfect Sunday which after a ropey start was an appropiate song to play.

The Damned are still quality after all these years and will always be Punks no.1 to me and many other loyal fans.

P.S. more Yorkshire gigs please and later trains!!!
